The Indonesian Association of Women with Disabilities (Himpunan Wanita Disabilitas Indonesia, HWDI), in collaboration with the ASEAN Disability Forum (ADF), will organize a capacity-building workshop for organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) in Indonesia.
The online event, scheduled on Friday, March 14, 2025, aims to strengthen the capacity of disability organizations—especially those led by women—to engage actively in the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, taking place March 10–21, 2025.
The workshop started with an opening speech by ADF Secretary General Maulani Rotinsulu. A presentation on CSW69 mechanisms will be delivered by Hosianna Rugun Anggreni, Programme Analyst for Governance.

The CSW69 will focus on reviewing 30 years since the adoption of the 12 Critical Areas of Concern of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA+30). This milestone places disability issues as an integral part of global gender equality and human rights discussions.
Last year’s CSW68 concluded with the Agreed Conclusions, in which member states committed to strengthen gender-responsive policies, improve access to equal pay, and reform international financial systems to better address the current crisis and promote gender equality.
HWDI’s initiative is designed to increase knowledge among OPDs about the CSW platform, enabling them to contribute to shaping, implementing, and monitoring inclusive policies that fulfill the rights of women and girls with disabilities at both national and regional levels.
